We will of course be letting you know all about presale and getting PayPal up so we can take payments directly. We will be putting all names in the artwork and getting a copy to you before release date.  We think we should throw in a signed release poster as well!

Stuff coming up:   We are spending most of Feb opening shows for Scottish singer Horse around Australia starting in Perth on Feb 9, followed by Sydney on Feb 18 then Melbourne on Feb 24.

We first saw Horse perform as far back as 98 in the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow as part of the Celtic Connections Festival we were a part of so it has been a while between gigs, lots to catch up on.

Come March, we will be hopping in the car and heading up to the Yackandandah Festival for our first appearance there so it should be a heap of fun. Yackandandah is about a 3 hour drive from Melbourne.

Of course we will be fitting in as much pre production on the new cd as we can so we can be good and ready to record by May.  Then its off to The States once again come June where we are confirmed to play The Kate Wolf Festival in Northern Califonia alongside KD Lang and Lucinda Williams..phew, a big year

BEWARE – there’ll be a road closure the NSC Matinee gig next week….

The High St closure will be from Clarke St to Separation St and during 1-10th october 2011 –  the most convenient way to get to the venue will be via Hawthorn Rd which runs alongside the Northcote Social Club.

There is plenty of accessible parking in a large car park at the rear of the venue.

NEWS (ニュース Nyūsu^?), is a six-member Japanese boy band consisting of Keiichiro Koyama,Ryo Nishikido, Tomohisa Yamashita, Takahisa Masuda, Shigeaki Kato and Yuya Tegoshi. I find it amazing just how many hours can slip by as i read about how soemone else has made their toast in the morning???

anyway, suffice to say that i have let the website go – it seems a bit innactive.. but we’re both still here .

There’s some new gigs to announce (look right) and we have plenty of stories to pass on (it’s just that both Jacqui and I seem to be so much better at telling them rather than writing them.. is this the age of the typist rather than the auditory story-teller of old??)

I’m distracted… must be the late hour.

All the gigs were fun, and a lot of adventures had already. It all started with the show-tune singing at the Alley in Oakland, went on to Calfest and as always had a ton of  fun and the weather was perfect. We even took our audience on walkabout to see another act that we would’ve missed otherwise…

Felton where Julia tried her hand at horse-riding the next day (after the Don Quixote gig) through the Henry Cowell Redwood Forest (thanks Clare… and Remy, the big horse).

Constable Jacks which we sadly have had to say goodbye to (as it’s closing)… Thank you thank you to the Loopers who adopted us many years ago – we’ll miss you!

The party at MnM’s Bed and Breakfast next day??early morning?? was too funny and the Oakland first-time House Concert organisers Leann, Laura and Lori did a brilliant job (and THAT house… everyone there wanted to move in!)

Julia wants to move to California and had SUCH a good time… so did Jac and I… but now it’s to the East and more friends we’re so looking forward to seeing again… see you all soon!!

Friday night at the Cape was great…late ..and so much fun! Jac actually received some ‘depends’ as she laughed so hard it looked like she might wet herself. Honestly, i thought i was going to – especially when she was dancing like Carole King… I suppose you had to be there…

Thanks to all the crew who came along…. and i timed the drive from Wonthaggi – it’s between 6 and 7 minutes. Night-driving maybe 10min.

Then Sunday Matinee at the Northcote Social Club – i think it was a great time to play and we’ll do that again. The weather was on our side – it was overcast but no rain. So, a perfect day to hang out on High Street and go to the pub. We were really pleased with the turnout and thank Melbourne soooo much.

We introduced new songs at the NSC and think they went over well. Y’know, i don’t mind a bit of feedback, as we haven’t recorded them yet, but plan to soon.

Everyone single one of them did a great job.  A massive thank you to our superb audiences who graced us with standing ovations and a whole lotta love.

The Basement in Sydney is such a fantastic place to perform and “play” – lots of audience participation including stage dancers and an impromptu strip… (and dress again!!.. He was changing from HIS shirt to OUR T-shirt, so that’s ok!)..whew, but what a 6-pack!

We caught up with some friends on the Saturday and then up to Newcastle and Lizottes to support Catherine Britt. A great crowd and warm reception…. hopefully we’ll be back up there again soon!

Two weeks before that we played The Thornbury Theatre, which is a new venue for us. It was great to catch up with the ‘Oily Girls’ (check out the facebook bluehouse page for some funny old photos… we’ve known them since 1996) and introduce some new songs. Thank You to Tracy and Deb for organising and promoting the gig. It is such a beautiful room – if you haven’t been there before, make sure you come next time… it’s very glamorous.

A big “Thank You”  to all the crew who supported us at the Purple Hen Winery Picnic Concert… which was NO picnic as the weather turned on us at the last minute (squalls, wind, rain, drop in temperature..sheesh!). A Long Weekend with exceptionally hot weather except for the 3 hrs when we set up and played… A testing time, but one that just made for a better gig – we were happy people came in those conditions and we gave them a ripper concert!.. and spare jumpers if we had them! The wine made things warmer… Next time there will be a wet weather alternative – Bill’s shearing shed, I think! And we’ll never forget that gig because Dale and Laura, from USA, came with specially prepared T-shirts for each of us – very thoughtful – thanks!

Can’t forget the players with us – The wonderful Julia Day, who beat her way into everyone’s hearts and Louise Woodward, who accompanied us for the first time ever (with just one rehearsal) at the Thornbury Theatre. She loved it so much, she frequent flyer’ed up to Sydney to join us for the Basement gig – yeehaa! She was wonderful, by the way… it’s a lucky life we have.

I was gonna ride but due to a last minute hitch I watched from the sidelines instead and it was fantastic. Such a great atmosphere, a real coming together of community. There were 300,000 spectators and it was a great vibe.  The rain stayed away for most of the night thankfully and everyone partied….

Some sore heads today but all good and I recovered in time for my interview on JOY FM to chat about upcoming gigs and what we’ve been up to. Its great that we are finally getting back to Brisbane, seems ages since we have been there. Details will be up soon on the gig page. Practising for new songs today and gearing up to get back to Melbourne for the shows next weekend…can’t wait!  I think thats about it at the moment, mmm, must be cup of tea time  (getting old!).  Thanks for the comments…keep em coming.  Jac x

Any suggestions for which ones i should tackle next??

Not that i’m complaining – at least it’s not a flood or a cyclone. I feel for everyone up in Melbourne, and NSW, and Qld and now Victoria again…wow.

I lost stuff in the last flash flood in Northcote, about 8 years ago?? 9?? Anyway, all those albums and tapes i’d been dragging around with me for the last 15 years of share-houses finally drowned, dried and stuck together in one big unusable wad by the  time i returned from a tour… all that music I listened to as a teenager… all that angst and rage!! heheh…

Saturday March 26…see ya there!

We are excited to be returning to Melbourne to play. Even more excited to be playing the beautiful Thornbury Theatre show! This is a beautiful but cavernous venue so we really need a big hometown turnout..let your friends know who might not have seen us before. This show will feature the superlative drumming of Julia Day.

Nest we are Sydney bound and a return to the fabulous Basement in Circular Quay.We love a Thursday night gig and you Sydney crew never disappoint so come and have some dinner and let us entertain you in one of Sydney’s ultimate live venues.

Easter is all set to be a big one for us with our very first appearance at the national Folk Festival in Canberra. this will be a hoot and we always thrive in a festival atmosphere so see you for the Easter egg hunt and some great music.

Details will be coming soon about the Huge night of womens music planned for July 10 at The Sydney Opera House . This is BIG…stay tuned for details.

We are busy song writing on Phillip Island and can’t wait to play them at the gigs…see you all there
